This page provides some basic information about the layout of the Dotcom careers site, how to change the way it looks and useful tips for people using screen readers.
At the top of the page you will find a number of links, which will take you to different sections on the careers site. The main sections are:
Within each of these sections you will find a number of different pages. For example, selecting the “Profiles” page will display a list of people whose profiles can be read on the site. Additionally, you will also find links taking you to other sites hosted by Tesco, such as our Asian Network.
This site adheres to the Web Accessibility Guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium W3C group, and the UK Government's guidelines in the Disability Discrimination Act (1995).
A small number of access keys are used on this site. These provide quick page access. They are as follows:
S - Skip to content - allows you to skip the menus at the top of the page and go straight to the content.
F - Skip to footer - allows you to skip to the links at the bottom of the page
0 - Accessibility - takes you to this page
These access keys together with some extra keys can be re-defined by using our customizable access key feature to ensure that the keys do not interfere with any assistive technology in use.
The use of access keys differs from browser to browser. Details for some of the more common browsers are listed below.
Hold down the SHIFT and ALT key and press the number or letter of the access key.
Hold down the CTRL key and press the number or letter of the access key.
Hold down the ALT key, press the number or letter of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER.
This site has been developed using XHTML and CSS which allows visually impaired users to navigate and experience the site content without being restricted by the layout.
Some visitors may find it necessary to increase or decrease the size of the text appearing on screen. This can be achieved by:
Apple Mac - holding the 'Apple' key, then pressing + or - to alter the font size.
Internet Explorer – holding the 'CTRL' key, then pressing + or – to alter the font size.
Firefox – holding the 'CTRL' key, then pressing + or – to alter the font size.
